Supplier FAQ

Supplier FAQ — Fulfilment, Payouts & Fees

The complete reference for selling as a supplier on CartKeeper — fulfilment, payouts, RTO, and fees.

Apply to become a supplier

This page answers the questions suppliers ask most before and after they start selling on CartKeeper — what you are responsible for once an order comes in, when your money actually lands, who pays for shipping and returns, and what it costs to sell. Read it before you apply, or come back to it any time. For how to apply, see the supplier application page.

What you are responsible for

  • You pack and dispatch every order yourself — CartKeeper does not run a warehouse or pack on your behalf.
  • You hand off each order to the courier we assign, through our shared courier account — you do not need to arrange or pay a courier yourself.
  • Orders must be dispatched within 24 hours of confirmation.
  • You keep your product details, pricing, and stock accurate on the supplier dashboard.

Do I pay anything upfront?

No. There is no registration fee and no advance payment to apply, get approved, or list products. You are never asked to pay before you sell.

When and how you get paid

Payouts run weekly, in Pakistani Rupees, based on the proceeds the courier actually collects on your delivered cash-on-delivery orders. Unlike dropshippers reselling your products, there is no minimum-delivered-orders gate on your first payout — your weekly cycle starts from your first delivered order.

A platform fee, 2.5% by default, is deducted from your settlement. This rate can vary by account and is confirmed with you during onboarding — there are no other hidden charges beyond it.

Shipping charges, returns & RTO

  • The customer pays the delivery charge, not you.
  • RTO (return to origin — an order dispatched but not delivered) and any other return costs on your orders are your responsibility. This is different from the shared-cost policy dropshippers get on the orders they resell, so confirming stock and order details before dispatch is worth the extra minute.
  • For a normal return, the item comes back to you once it clears warehouse quality checks.

Setting what resellers earn

If you opt your products in to resale, you decide the commission dropshippers earn for selling them — this is separate from, and set independently of, the 2.5% platform fee taken from your own settlement.

Applying and getting approved

Applying is free and takes one form — business details, contact info, and what you sell. Our supplier team reviews every application and contacts you to set up your account; there is no automated approval, so response times depend on the team's review queue.

Getting your store into Google search

Your products are listed on the CartKeeper marketplace from day one. Your store's own address — yourstore.cartkeeper or your own domain — is offered to Google as a separate site once it qualifies: the store has been live for 30 days and has at least 10 active products of your own. From then on your product pages are the main (canonical) page for your products, and the CartKeeper marketplace listing points search engines to them.

Until your store qualifies, your store's home page on its own address is kept out of search results (links are still followed), and its sitemap is not published yet. You can connect Google Search Console at any time — the steps below work before and after your store qualifies.

You can see whether your store qualifies, and why not yet, in the store console under Store → SEO & sharing (Your store → SEO & sharing on a computer).

Connect your store to Google Search Console — step by step

Google Search Console shows how Google sees your store and lets you ask it to crawl your pages. You verify your own store address yourself — there is nothing for CartKeeper to set up.

  1. Open Google Search Console, choose Add property and pick URL prefix. Enter your store address exactly as customers see it, for example https://yourstore.cartkeeper/ — or your own domain, such as https://www.yourbrand.pk/.
  2. Under the other verification methods, choose HTML tag and copy the meta tag Google shows you.
  3. In your store console, open Store → SEO & sharing → Google Search Console, paste the whole tag (or just the code inside content="…") and save.
  4. Go back to Search Console and click Verify. The tag is on your store's home page as soon as you save.
  5. Open Sitemaps in Search Console and submit https://yourstore.cartkeeper/sitemap.xml (use your own domain if that is your store address). Your sitemap is published once your store qualifies — until then Search Console reports it as not found, which is expected.
  6. Use URL Inspection → Request indexing for your home page and your most important product pages.

Search Console notes for subdomains and custom domains

  • Store subdomains (yourstore.cartkeeper): use the HTML tag method. DNS verification and Domain properties are not available for addresses under cartkeeper — we never add DNS records for individual stores.
  • Your own domain: the recommended option is a Domain property in Search Console, verified with a DNS TXT record you add at your domain registrar. It covers the www and non-www versions and every page. The HTML tag method works for custom domains too.
  • You can save up to 3 Google verification codes — for example yours and your agency's — plus one Bing Webmaster Tools code (msvalidate.01).
  • A verification code only proves ownership of your own store address. It gives nobody access to other stores or to the CartKeeper marketplace — but anyone you verify can use Search Console tools, including Removals, on your store address, so only add people you trust.
  • You do not need Google's Indexing API or a sitemap "ping" — submitting your sitemap once in Search Console is enough; Google re-reads it on its own.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add my store to Google Search Console?
In Search Console add a URL-prefix property for your store address (https://yourstore.cartkeeper/ or your own domain), choose the HTML tag method, paste the tag in your store console under Store → SEO & sharing → Google Search Console and save, then click Verify. Once your store qualifies, submit /sitemap.xml and request indexing for your key pages. Store subdomains use the HTML tag only; for your own domain a DNS TXT Domain property is recommended.
When does my store appear in Google as its own site?
Once it has been live for 30 days with at least 10 active products of your own. Until then your products still show in Google through the CartKeeper marketplace. Store → SEO & sharing in your console shows your status.
Why does Search Console say my sitemap could not be found?
Your store's sitemap is published once your store qualifies for its own search listing. Before that, /sitemap.xml on your store address is intentionally not found. Check Store → SEO & sharing in your console to see what is still needed.
Do I have to pack and ship orders myself?
Yes. You pack each order and dispatch it to the courier we assign within 24 hours of confirmation. CartKeeper coordinates the courier and cash-on-delivery collection through a shared courier account, but the packing and hand-off is yours to do.
Do I pay anything upfront to become a supplier or list products?
No. There is no registration fee and no advance payment — applying, getting approved, and listing products all cost nothing upfront.
How and when do I get paid?
Weekly, in Pakistani Rupees, based on the proceeds the courier actually collects on your delivered cash-on-delivery orders. There is no minimum-delivered-orders gate on your first payout — unlike dropshippers reselling your products, your weekly cycle starts from your very first delivered order.
Who pays the shipping or delivery charge?
The customer does, not you.
Who's responsible for return or RTO costs on my orders?
You are. RTO (return to origin) and other return costs on your own orders are your responsibility in full — this is different from the shared-cost policy dropshippers get on orders they resell from you.
Is there a fee or commission to sell as a supplier?
A platform fee, 2.5% by default, is deducted from your settlement on delivered orders. It can vary by account and is confirmed during onboarding, but there are no other hidden charges on top of it.
Do I decide what resellers earn on my products?
Yes. If you opt your products in to resale, you set the commission dropshippers earn for selling them, independently of the 2.5% platform fee taken from your own settlement.
How do I apply, and how long does it take?
Fill in the application form on the become-a-supplier page. Our supplier team reviews every application and contacts you to set up your account — there is no automated approval, so timing depends on the review queue.
How do I add and manage my products?
From the supplier dashboard — product details, pricing, images, and stock are all managed in one place once your account is set up.
